CURACAO TRIP REPORT
14 divers departed Oct 10 on our trip to Curacao where we got in 2 days of diving then took up storm watch for 2 days as Hurricane Omar decide to pay the island a visit.
The ABC islands are normally out of the hurricane belt and this storm took the islands by complete surprise. We did manage to get in a good bowling tournament one afternoon and Brian Sielski takes the honors as top bowler.
The storm cleared out enough for us to resume diving on Thursday & Friday and we completed a few more dives before departing on Saturday for home. The Curacao reefs sustained only minor damage, except for a few sections of sea walls that were sent tumbling down the reef. Our resort didn’t suffer any damage and the resorts that did had already started rebuilding by Thursday morning.
All in all this was a very interesting week in the Caribbean. Hopefully we can avoid hurricanes and storms on our future trips.

We have 3 spots left open in the van for this trip. We can arrange for diving only if you wish to make your own travel plans. If we have enough interest we may plan for another van.

This trip filled up so quickly it took us by surprise. 18 hours after we announced it the trip was filled up.
If we have enough interest we will plan another trip for 2010 or we may schedule another one in 2011 depending on availability of the boat. Shoot me an email if you are really serious about traveling to the world’s best wreck diving.
COZUMEL - 2009
During our Curacao trip several of our divers were interested in running a trip to Cozumel. We are researching prices and resorts and will announce plans soon for a May trip to Cozumel.
OTHER 2009 trips will be announced soon. Some trips in the planning stages are Bonaire, Crystal River, Florida Springs and another Caribbean destination to be decided for later in the year.
