Last weekend was a very busy time for diving. We were completely out of rental gear for the weekend. In addition to all our regular classes we had Boy Scout Troop 260 from Greer with a group of 16 Boy Scouts and parents out for a fun day of diving at the Jocassee “Wall”. They are preparing to go to Sea Base in the Florida Keys this summer.

Due to medical and family issues we have 2 persons who have to drop out of the Bonaire trip. So, we have 2 open spots for this trip. One is with a male room mate and the other is with a female room mate. If you are available to go on this short of a notice, please give us a call and we’ll give you the price and details.

We just received a new line of SeaSoft BCDs in stock. One of the obvious arguments we hear all the time against buying a BCD for a growing teenager is they will grow out of it within a year. How about a BCD that we can fit a 60lb 10 year old and then with just 30 seconds of adjustments fit a 150 lb adult?
The new SeaSoft Sea Lion BC is just that, only 3 sizes, small, regular and big (and this is really big).
SeaSoft has 3 models, the Sealion, The Pro and the Travel Lite. All of these BCs have some amazing features, such as weight integrated pockets with separate weight pockets to hold the weights, built in retractors, 2 tank bands, carry handle and tank strap to set the adjustment height.
We also brought in a few of the SeaSoft gloves and hoods and we will be slowly adding the entire line of comfortable and durable SeaSoft products to our store over the next few months.
SeaSoft also has a line of Drysuits that are reasonably priced. We’ll be adding a few stock sizes before the warm weather dive season is over.
SeaSoft also has a unique product that you have to see, a light holster that attaches to your BCD with a built-in retractor that comes with a UK SL4 either in standard bulb or LED. The Pro BCD comes with the holster and light as standard equipment.

We want to announce that as of today, Rachel Struch has been promoted to store manager. Rachel will be directing a lot of the day to day store activities and also be getting involved with training schedules and product orders. Over the last year she has really learned a lot and has progressed in her diving to the level of Cave Diver. In the near future she will be earning her Dive Master Certification and then we hope she will continue to progress to the Instructor Level. We are really looking forward to working with her.

We also welcome a new employee to the store team. Andrew Alewine is a student at Southern Wesleyan University and will be working part-time thru the summer and maybe even continue to help throughout the year.
